The Officer GSE is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and managing the daily operations of ground support equipment. This role ensures that all equipment is maintained in optimal condition and operates safely and efficiently to support airport or airline operations. The Officer GSE works closely with maintenance teams, operations staff, and external vendors to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
GSE Operations Coordination
Oversee the daily allocation, utilization, and deployment of ground support equipment (e.g., baggage tractors, belt loaders, ground power units).
Monitor equipment performance and usage to ensure operational efficiency and availability.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance and periodic inspections for all GSE.
Assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues in collaboration with the maintenance team.
Ensure that any equipment requiring repair is promptly reported and serviced to minimize operational disruption.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance logs, inspections, and repair histories.
Prepare regular reports on equipment status, downtime, and performance metrics for management review.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure that all GSE operations comply with aviation safety standards, local regulations, and organizational policies.
Promote adherence to safety protocols and assist in training staff on proper use and handling of ground support equipment.
Participate in regular safety audits and assist with implementing corrective actions as needed.
Inventory & Asset Management
Monitor the inventory of spare parts and equipment consumables, collaborating with procurement to ensure adequate stock levels.
Track asset conditions and support efforts for equipment upgrades or replacements.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with internal teams (e.g., operations, maintenance, and logistics) and external vendors to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
Communicate any issues or required improvements to management to support continuous process enhancements.
