Manual-cum-Automation Tester

Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Manual-cum-Automation Tester to ensure the quality,

reliability, and seamless functionality of our School ERP product. The ideal candidate will have expertise

in testing both web and mobile applications, be proficient in writing and executing test cases, and have

hands-on experience with automation testing tools. The candidate must have a deep understanding of

the unique requirements of School ERP systems, including modules like admissions, academics, finance,

and HR management.

Job Description:

Manual Testing

1. Understand and analyze product requirements and create detailed, comprehensive, and

well-structured test plans and test cases.

2. Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing of the ERP product.

3. Test the product for compatibility across different browsers and mobile devices.

4. Identify, log, and track bugs in collaboration with the development team.

5. Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with internal and external stakeholders.

Automation Testing

6. Develop and execute automation scripts using tools like Selenium, Appium, or equivalent.

7. Automate repetitive manual test cases to improve efficiency.

8. Maintain and enhance the automation framework to support new features and product

modules.

9. Create performance and load testing scripts using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.

10. Monitor and analyze test results, ensuring timely feedback to the development team.

Quality Assurance

11. Work with developers, designers, and product managers to ensure seamless product delivery.

12. Maintain test documentation, including defect logs, test cases, and test reports.

13. Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards critical to educational institutions.

Technical Know-how:

1. Core Testing Knowledge:

○ Test case design and execution.

○ Bug lifecycle and defect management.

○ Understanding of functional, non-functional, and regression testing.

2. Automation Expertise:

○ Scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or JavaScript).

○ Framework development using Selenium WebDriver or equivalent.

○ CI/CD pipeline integration for automated testing.

3. Domain Knowledge:

○ Understanding of School ERP workflows, including admission processes, attendance

tracking, fee management, timetable scheduling, and performance reporting.

4. Performance & Security Testing:

○ Basic understanding of security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP).

○ Load and performance testing tools like JMeter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ISTQB certification or similar.
• Experience in testing mobile applications (iOS and Android).
• Knowledge of cloud-based ERP systems and SaaS architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Scrum teams.
