Job Description
- Build front-end web applications against our back-end APIs
- Collaborate with customers and collaborators to craft and mock-up pages and views that align with business objectives
- Influence the design of back-end APIs to improve them for suitability by front-end and make the end-to-end solution better
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years work experience in front-end software development, building web applications with frameworks (React or similar) while maintaining quality and scalability
- Knowledge and experience on how to provide an User Interface (UI) Design
- 2+ years experience in one or more general development languages like Python, C/C++ - Experience in writing efficient SQL through both raw queries and ORMs
- Proficiency in version control systems (e.g. Git, Perforce)
- Experience making data visualizations (with Plotly, d3, Highcharts, Bokeh)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to determine root causes and implement effective solutions
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with others in a team environment
- Solid understanding of deploying applications in Linux
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Experience deploying containerized applications, including with orchestration technologies (e.g. Swarm, Kubernetes)
- Have a portfolio of projects or open-source contributions that showcase your UI development skills
- Experience with HPC clusters and technologies, especially Slurm, or experience with batch or streaming workloads other cloud-native orchestrators like Kubernetes/Rancher, Mesos or HashiCorp Nomad
- Knowledge of system network provisioning and deployment processes, automated OS installation
