Data Engineer - SAP BW

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain SAP BW solutions to meet business requirements.
Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using SAP BW.
Develop and maintain custom extractions using ABAP.
Create and manage SAP BW Process Chains for job orchestration.
Utilize SAP HANA Studio for data modeling and creation of calculation views.
Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and platforms using cloud-based technologies and best practices.
Integrate and transform data from various sources, such as SAP, SQL Server, S3, and APIs.
Optimize and monitor the performance, quality, and availability of data pipelines and platforms, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
Support data analysis and reporting by creating and maintaining data models, schemas, views, and dashboards using tools to design, develop, automate, and support complex applications to extract, transform, and load data.
Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
Document and communicate data engineering processes, standards, and best practices to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing across the team and the organization.
Research and evaluate new data technologies and trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand their needs and challenges, translating them into clear, concise, and technically feasible data analysis requests.

YOU HAVE:
Academic background in Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science
Overall 5+ years experience in relevant industry.
5+ years of experience in SAP BW (version 7.5)
3+ years of experience with SAP ECC Tables/Structure
Proven experience in BW Custom Extractions
Proficiency in SAP HANA Studio
Experience in creating Calculation Views in SAP HANA
Experience in maintaining and creating SAP BW Process Chains (Job Orchestration)
Ability to understand and develop ABAP code for custom extractions and complex transformations
Experience in cloud data platforms Snowflake or AWS
Automated data transformation and data curation using tools such as dbt or Informatica.
Previous programming expertise in Java, Python, PySpark, or Scala

Skills
Strong knowledge of SAP BW 7.5 and SAP ECC.
Proficiency in SAP HANA Studio and data modeling.
Expertise in ABAP programming for custom extractions and transformations.
Experience with SAP BW Process Chains.
Ability to write, debug, and optimize SQL queries.
Familiarity with Tableau or similar data visualization tools.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
User-facing written and verbal communication skills and experience
