Automation QA (Web + Data)

Job Summary :

As an Automation QA Engineer , you will be responsible for creating and executing automated test scripts to verify the functionality and performance of software applications. You will work closely with development teams to identify key testing areas, design efficient test frameworks, and ensure the continuous quality of software products. Your role will help increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the software testing process, allowing for faster and more reliable releases.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Test Automation Development :

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Write clear, maintainable, and reusable code for automation frameworks and test scripts.
• Implement automated tests using tools like Selenium , Appium , JUnit , TestNG , Cypress , or other relevant testing frameworks.
• Collaborate with development teams to create automation scripts for newly developed features and functionality.

2. Test Strategy and Planning :

• Define the test automation strategy, objectives, and scope for projects based on business and technical requirements.
• Work with product owners, business analysts, and developers to ensure the correct features are covered by automated tests.
• Identify and prioritize automation test cases based on risk, complexity, and business impact.
• Plan and estimate effort for automation tasks in collaboration with the testing and development teams.

3. Test Execution and Reporting :

• Execute automated tests as part of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Monitor test execution and ensure that automated tests are running effectively within the defined time frame.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with developers to resolve issues.
• Provide detailed reports and logs for test execution, including test coverage, defects, and quality metrics.
• Ensure that all automated tests are integrated into version control systems (e.g., Git ) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins , GitLab CI , Azure DevOps ).

4. Collaboration and Communication :

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other QA engineers, to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Act as a liaison between developers and testers to ensure the correct understanding of requirements, defects, and fixes.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge of automation tools, techniques, and best practices with team members.
• Provide feedback on test results to stakeholders and highlight areas of improvement in the development process.

5. Continuous Improvement :

• Continuously assess and improve the automation test suite to ensure maximum coverage and efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and technologies in test automation and recommend improvements to existing processes and frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to introduce new testing methodologies or tools that can improve automation efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate in retrospectives to review automation processes and suggest process improvements.

6. Test Environment Management :

• Set up, configure, and maintain test environments for automated testing.
• Ensure proper integration of automation frameworks with test data management systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain the automation infrastructure and ensure its stability and efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience :
  • Proven experience as an Automation QA Engineer or in a similar quality assurance role.
  • Strong proficiency in test automation tools like Selenium WebDriver , JUnit , TestNG , Appium , Cypress , or similar tools.
  • Experience in writing automation scripts using languages such as Java , Python , JavaScript , or Ruby .
  • Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests into tools like Jenkins , GitLab CI , Azure DevOps , or similar.
  • Solid understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git , SVN ) and the process of managing test scripts in repositories.

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with API automation testing (e.g., using Postman , RestAssured , or SoapUI ).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter , LoadRunner , or Gatling .
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker ) and cloud environments (e.g., AWS , Azure , Google Cloud ).
• Experience with mobile test automation using Appium , Espresso , or XCUITest .
• Familiarity with BDD (Behavior Driven Development) frameworks (e.g., Cucumber , SpecFlow ) for writing test scenarios.
