Senior Financial Controller

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Controller to lead our financial operations in Mumbai. As a key member of our leadership team, you will oversee financial management, compliance, and reporting functions while driving efficiency and supporting strategic growth. This role is ideal for a qualified Chartered Accountant with 2-3 years of experience in the fintech or financial services sector, looking to make an impact in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Management

• Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support decision-making.
• Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
• Develop strategies for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
• Manage the implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Accounting and Compliance Oversight

• Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of financial records in accordance with Indian accounting standards.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, including reconciliations and adjustments.
• Supervise GST, TDS, and other tax filings, ensuring compliance with Indian tax laws.
• Coordinate with external auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Ensure regulatory filings (e.g., ROC filings) are accurate and submitted within deadlines.

Leadership and Collaboration

• Lead a small team of finance professionals, providing mentorship and training as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business goals.
• Serve as a key liaison between the company and external stakeholders, including investors, banks, and auditors.

Strategic Contributions

• Provide financial insights to the management team to support strategic initiatives and business planning.
• Evaluate and mitigate financial risks associated with business operations and growth strategies.

Qualifications:

• Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Experience: 2-3 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in fintech, financial services, or related sectors.

Key Skills:

• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, taxation, and compliance requirements.
• Financial Tools: Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., Zoho Books, SAP, or Tally) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams and lead financial operations.
• Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and strategic mindset.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
