What Youll Do
The primary objective of the Principal Data Engineer position is to mentor and manage the development, implementation, and optimization of data infrastructure and architecture.
Ensuring the efficient and effective handling of large datasets and supporting advanced analytics initiatives.
Data Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
Lead the Data Function for a product/products.
Database Management: Oversee the management and optimization of databases for performance and reliability.
ETL Processes: Develop and enhance Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes for seamless data integration.
Data Modeling: Create and maintain data models to support business requirements and analytics.
Quality Assurance: Implement data quality and validation processes to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Optimization: Continuously optimize and enhance data systems for improved efficiency and performance.
Security: Implement and maintain data security measures and compliance standards.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes and systems.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineering team members.
What You ll Need
Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
10+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on scalable and robust data solutions.
Proficiency in data modeling and database design.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Experience in Kafka and Clickhouse DB.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiarity with data warehousing solutions.
Expertise in ETL tools and processes.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry best practices.
Team Player: A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
