Firewall Administrator / Network Engineer

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Firewall Administrator/ Network Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. 

As a Firewall Administrator/ Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization's digital assets and ensuring the integrity and security of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Firewall Management:

• Configure, install, and maintain firewall devices to protect our network from unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats.
• Regularly update firewall rules and policies to align with evolving security requirements.
• Monitor firewall logs and alerts, responding to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Conduct regular firewall health checks and maintenance activities.

Network Security:

• Collaborate with the IT and cybersecurity teams to develop and enforce network security policies.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses.
• Investigate and analyze security breaches and incidents, recommending and implementing security solutions.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of firewall configurations, changes, and incidents.
• Prepare and present reports on network security, firewall performance, and incident response.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for firewall-related issues.
• Assist in resolving network-related problems and outages. 

Security Awareness:

• Promote security best practices within the organization.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging threats to provide proactive solutions.

Experience:

• 2-4 years of proven experience in firewall administration and network security.
• Strong knowledge of firewall technologies, including Sophos, Palo Alto and Fortinet.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA Security, CCNP Security, CISSP, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in network protocols and routing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with security tools and technologies, including intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS), is a plus.
