Principal AI Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Understand client challenges and propose solutions based on AI/GenAI capabilities.
• Work on functional design, process design, prototyping, testing, training, and defining support
  procedures, in collaboration with data engineering team and executive leadership.
• Design, build, and fine-tune generative AI models (such as GPT, BERT, etc.) for various
  applications including natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and more.
• Fine-tune large language models and open-source pre-trained transformers using cloud and
  distributed computing resources.
• Integrate AI models into products, services, and tools in collaboration with software
  engineering teams.
• Build APIs and interfaces for scalable deployment of generative AI solutions.
• Manage a team in implementing AI solutions and developing products.
• Collaborate with external partners, such as research institutions or universities, to explore
  innovative AI approaches and foster collaborative research projects.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and ethical guidelines while working with
  sensitive and confidential data.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in machine learning and AI.

Preferred candidate profile

Mandatory

• 8+ years of total experience with 5+ years of professional experience in AI, ML or a related field.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
• Proven experience with Generative AI models and frameworks such as GPT, BERT, DALL-E, etc.
• Strong programming skills in Python; experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Langchain and LlamaIndex.
• Understanding of transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, and neural networks.
• Advanced knowledge o statistical and algorithmic models as well as of fundamental mathematic concepts, such as linear algebra and probability.
• Experience working with large data sets and writing efficient code capable of processing large data streams at speed.
• Experience in program leadership, governance, and change enablement

Desirable

• Experience working with Azure Data & AI services.
• Experience with MLOps tools like MLFLow, Azure MLOps or similar tools.
• High level of ownership and creative problem solving under resource constraints.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with C-Level executives.
