Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients, working closely with doctors, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient management and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care & Monitoring:
   
• Assess and monitor patients' health conditions through regular observations, including measuring vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate).
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, and treatments as per the doctors orders.
• Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, feeding, and dressing patients as needed.
• Provide wound care and help in dressing changes, ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
2. Medical Procedures & Support:
   
• Assist in performing basic medical procedures, such as inserting IV lines, catheterization, and wound cleaning.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures (e.g., collecting blood samples, urine samples) and manage patient records appropriately.
• Provide support to doctors and senior nursing staff during surgeries, procedures, or emergency interventions.
3. Patient Education & Emotional Support:
   
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care practices.
• Offer emotional support to patients and families during critical or difficult times.
• Promote patient health education, including promoting lifestyle modifications and preventive healthcare measures.
4. Collaboration & Communication:
   
• Coordinate and collaborate with doctors, healthcare teams, and other departments to provide holistic care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the hospital's electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Participate in handover reports during shift changes and communicate relevant information to team members.
5. Health & Safety Compliance:
   
• Adhere to hospital policies, health safety standards, and ethical guidelines in all aspects of patient care.
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment at all times.
• Ensure proper disposal of used needles, syringes, and other hazardous medical waste as per safety regulations.
6. Emergency Response:
   
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, assisting in critical situations as required.
• Be prepared to administer CPR, first aid, or assist in code blue situations (if certified).
• Participate in disaster preparedness drills and ensure readiness for emergency scenarios.
7. Inventory & Equipment Management:
   
• Ensure that nursing supplies and equipment are stocked and ready for patient use.
• Report equipment malfunctions or shortages to the appropriate team or department.
8. Shift Management & Documentation:
   
• Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of patient care activities, treatments, medications, and progress notes.
• Document any changes in the patient's condition and report concerns to senior staff or doctors.
9. Professional Development:
   
• Participate in continuing education programs, workshops, and nursing seminars to enhance skills and stay updated with current healthcare practices.
• Follow professional development and training programs as mandated by the institution.
