Technical Skills:

• Extensive expertise in IBM Z Series, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, IMS, DB2, and MQ,
• Strong knowledge of Batch and Online transaction processing systems.

(Other mainframe such as AS400, ACOS are good to have)

• Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch , JPA, Hibernate, and other Java-based frameworks, Databases DB2, Oracle etc..
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and integration with legacy systems.
• Microservices Architecture & Design patterns, Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar tools.
• Migration of mainframe applications and data to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Understanding of cloud-native services, serverless architecture, and hybrid environments.
• Proficiency in COBOL-to-Java converters, automated refactoring tools, and RPA frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as BluAge/Micro Focus/Any other Enterprise Suite

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Mainframe Modernization Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead and execute mainframe modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in legacy mainframe systems, modernization strategies, and migration tools.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Modernization Strategy & Planning:
   • Assess existing mainframe systems, including applications, infrastructure, and processes, to identify modernization opportunities.
   • Develop modernization roadmaps and recommend optimal strategies such as rehosting, re-platforming, re-engineering, or replacement.
   • Align solutions with business goals, cost constraints, and technical requirements.
2. Technical Leadership:
   • Provide technical leadership on mainframe modernization projects, leveraging tools such as BluAge, Micro Focus, COBOL to Java converters, and other modernization platforms.
   • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and design end-state architecture, including cloud migration options (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
   • Ensure adherence to compliance, security, and regulatory requirements during migration.
3. Execution & Delivery:
   • Manage the implementation of modernization strategies, including code refactoring, data migration, and integration with modern ecosystems.
   • Optimize mainframe performance, including batch processing, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and JCL.
   • Coordinate with DevOps and CI/CD teams for automated deployment and testing.
4. Tool Evaluation & Adoption:
   • Evaluate and recommend tools for mainframe modernization, such as COBOL to Java migration tools, RPA tools, and automated testing platforms.
   • Identify opportunities for using Generative AI and other innovative technologies for automation and acceleration of the modernization process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s/Master s degree in Computer Science with good academic is MUST
• Certification in Mainframe technologies, BluAge Other related tools are good to have
