Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Manager - Shift Lead to join our dynamic DevOps Engineer team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring the smooth collaboration between cross functional teams. This role involves leading a team of engineers, implementing automation tools, maintaining high standards of quality and security, and managing the shift roster, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
Provide technical guidance and support to the DevOps Engineering team.
Support the team to Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to infrastructure and deployment.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in DevOps.
Reporting Operations:
Oversee the generation and distribution of regular IT performance and incident reports.
Analyse data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Establish process to maintain and update knowledgebase on software processes, tools, and systems.
DevOps Management:
Supporting the team to Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
Monitor and optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate and streamline processes.
Shift Roster Management:
Create and manage the shift roster for the IT/DevOps team to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Coordinate with team members to accommodate shift changes and leave requests.
Ensure adequate staffing levels during peak times and critical operations.
Team Collaboration:
Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and updates.
Mentor and support junior team members in their professional development.
Service Management:
Utilize service management tools like ServiceNow and Jira to track and manage incidents, requests, and changes.
Ensure timely resolution of service tickets and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Implement best practices for IT service management (ITSM) to improve service delivery.
Compliance and Security:
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Implement and maintain security best practices to protect IT infrastructure and data.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in DevOps or IT operations.
Proven experience in managing and leading technical teams.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK Stack)
Experience with service management tools like ServiceNow and Jira.
