Position Overview:

We are looking for a Java Engineer with 6-8 years of experience to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will work on the development of a FinTech application that is designed to scale and meet the needs of our users. You will collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams to build and enhance new features. This role requires a strong focus on detailed design skills to create efficient and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Application Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain features for our FinTech application using Java and Spring Boot.
• Create detailed technical designs for new features and functionality, ensuring they align with business needs and are scalable, secure, and efficient.
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code, focusing on both performance and maintainability.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services to extend the functionality of the application.

2. Collaboration & Teamwork:

• Collaborate with senior engineers and other team members to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Work closely with Product Managers to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed technical designs and features.
• Participate in code reviews, share best practices and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

3. Design Skills:

• Take ownership of detailed design for various modules and components of the application, ensuring that designs are aligned with architectural principles and best practices.
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions ensuring that every design decision is both technically sound and business-focused.
• Work closely with other engineers to ensure your designs are executable and integrated effectively into the larger system.

4. Testing & Quality Assurance:

• Write unit and integration tests to ensure the quality and stability of the codebase.
• Debug and resolve issues, ensuring that the application runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Participate in ensuring that the software adheres to quality standards and meets regulatory requirements.

5. Continuous Improvement:

• Suggest and implement improvements to the development process tools and technologies used by the team.
• Contribute to building a positive, collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the engineering team.

6. Compliance & Security:

• Follow best practices to ensure that the application is secure and compliant with relevant industry regulations.
• Be proactive about identifying and mitigating potential security risks and vulnerabilities in the system.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in Java development, specifically with Spring Boot and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of detailed design concepts, including component-level design, performance optimization and scalability considerations.
• Expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs and SQL/NoSQL database systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and Agile development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to front-end frameworks (React, Angular) for full-stack development.
• Knowledge of FinTech-specific challenges, including payment systems, transaction processing, and data security.
