Designer Head ( Woven Fabric)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of woven fabric collections from concept to production.
• Research global fashion, textile trends, and emerging technologies to inspire innovative fabric designs.
• Develop mood boards, color palettes, and textile concepts that align with seasonal trends.
• Work closely with product development, production, and marketing teams to ensure design feasibility and commercial viability.
• Oversee the selection of yarns, weaves, and finishes to achieve desired fabric aesthetics and performance.
• Collaborate with mills, suppliers, and manufacturers to develop high-quality woven textiles within budget constraints.
• Ensure fabric quality, durability, and sustainability meet brand and industry standards.
• Manage and mentor a team of textile designers, fostering creativity and innovation.
• Present fabric concepts and collections to internal stakeholders, buyers, and clients.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of weaving processes, looms, and fabric testing methods.
• Drive continuous improvement in design techniques, sustainability practices, and material efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in woven fabric design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of weaving techniques, fabric structures, yarn properties, and dyeing/finishing processes.
• Proficiency in textile design software (e.g., NedGraphics, Textronics, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, coreldraw).
• Experience working with mills, suppliers, and manufacturers for fabric development.
• Strong creative vision with an eye for detail and commercial appeal.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge of sustainable fabric innovations and eco-friendly manufacturing practices is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in home textiles, apparel, or industrial fabric design.
• Understanding of global market trends and consumer preferences.
• Ability to create hand-drawn and digital textile designs.
