Engineering Director

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director with strong leadership capabilities to set technical direction, drive innovation, and lead a collaborative engineering team. This role is critical in a fintech environment, focusing on payment processing solutions that require high scalability, security, and compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will define technical roadmaps, manage complex system designs, and ensure seamless execution of projects aligned with business KPIs.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 12+ years of engineering experience in leadership roles, preferably in fintech, payments, or financial services.
• Expertise in Full Stack Development, Software Architecture, Cloud & Infrastructure, DevOps, Security, Performance Optimization, AI/ML, Agile Methodologies, and Technical Leadership.
• Strong background in designing and implementing high-throughput, low-latency, and real-time payment processing systems.
• Deep proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Web API, C#, Python, JavaScript, React) with expertise in microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience with secure payment transactions, encryption techniques, PCI DSS compliance, and PCI S3.
• Strong understanding of financial transaction processing, payment gateways, settlement workflows, and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO 27001).
• Experience in software design, development, CI/CD automation, version control, and security best practices.
• Ability to align technical strategies with business objectives and drive innovation in a regulated environment.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, enabling coordination with cross-functional teams, banking partners, and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a technical roadmap that aligns with business objectives while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and data security standards.
• Inspire, develop, and manage a high-performing engineering team through mentorship, strategic guidance, and hiring the right talent.
• Architect scalable, secure, and high-availability payment processing systems to support transaction-intensive environments.
• Ensure high code quality, secure SDLC practices, and continuous process improvements using agile methodologies.
• Collaborate with product management, banking partners, and regulatory bodies to align engineering efforts with compliance, fraud prevention, and risk management.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including project planning, budget management, resource allocation, and execution.
• Continuously explore emerging technologiesincluding AI-driven fraud detection, blockchain for payments, and cloud-based payment infrastructure—to drive innovation.
• Manage stakeholder communications, client relationships, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth operations in a payments-driven fintech environment.
