Associate Technical Lead, IIB, ESB Associate Technical Lead, IIB, ESB

The Associate Technical Lead should have proven experience in delivering quality software and is keen to learn and work with some of the latest exciting cloud technologies. Builds software using the appropriate toolsets, following the software life cycle and the development procedures. Inputs into technical design solutions from functional requirement documents; Develops software to system specifications and guides team members to deliver quality product; Test programs and unit modules to system specification; Delivery of quality software to agreed timescales; Takes full ownership and supports change from Development to Live; Mentors junior and senior team members; Supports and maintains systems in use (third line support). Working with BAs, Testing teams, PMs, DevOps, Support, Release Management Teams and Business Stakeholders.

Strategic Focus

• Managing the delivery of the project with his/her technical expertise.
• Contribution to the project with his/her skills and resolving any blockers

Operational Management

• As well as working with other developers, you will also be working alongside systems analysts, testers, architects and delivery managers to deliver quality software.
• You will be involved in the estimation of work and definition of backlog items.
• Write code and unit tests to specification.
• Perform triage of defects and track them through to technical resolution.
• Participate in daily stand ups.
• Own the code management in the team and ensure effective use of source control systems.
• Work with DevOps to ensure continuous deployment processes are achieved

People Leadership

• Share your experience with other team members and contribute to the learning culture. Mentor and guide other developers
• Should be able to manage a team, performing their appraisals and managing work assignment

Governance Risk

• Reviewing at the coding standards to comply with Infosec principles

Experience Personal Attributes

• 9 - 12 years of Java/J2EE commercial experience in an Information Technology position in a medium size commercial environment.
• 7+ years of IBM (WMB or IIB or ACE) and MQ development experience.
• Experience in developing REST and SOAP web services with authentication mechanisms Basic, oAuth 2.0, JWT, etc
• Design Patterns and database queries, procedure and functions.
• Good understanding in message and its model like XML, JSON, CSV, etc...
• Good understanding in IBM IIB parsers like XMLNSC, SOAP, DFDL, etc
• Strong experience in ESQL and usage of Nodes (Routing, MQ, DB, Mapping etc.)
• Experience in developing solution using protocols HTTP, SOAP, JMS, AQMP, SFTP, MQ etc...
• Excellent communicator and mentor.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Experience of working on complex/challenging projects.
• Flexible, Self-motivated, team player able to self-organise and deliver on commitments.

Ideal:

• Experience in cloud technologies preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in containers like Kubernetes, Open Shift, AKS, etc...
• Experience in migrating IIB application from WMB to IIB and IIB to ACE
• Experience in agile working environments
• Experience working with Postman, SOAPUI, ARC etc.
• Good understanding of IIB configuration and deployment procedures
• Good knowledge in scripting languages PowerShell, jexl etc.
• Message flow design and development: Using IBM Primitive nodes to transform messages to meet business needs.
• Monitoring performance: Evaluating performance, analysing results, and making configuration changes to improve performance.
• Troubleshooting and managing: Resolving complex application, data, and infrastructure issues
