The candidate will play a key role in identifying strategic areas for internal capital allocation (ICAP), performance measurement, and expense management across MSCIs core product lines. As a crucial member of the FP&A team, they will contribute to tracking investments, strengthening controls, and enhancing transparency in investment processes. Additionally, they will oversee the consolidation and management of critical reports, including presentations for the Board of Directors. This position reports to the Vice President and requires strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and coordination skills.
Your Key Responsibilities
Oversee internal capital allocation for MSCI product lines by identifying strategic investment opportunities and effectively reporting them to management.
Monitor, analyze, and manage expenses at multiple levels, ensuring a clear understanding of cost structures and financial efficiency.
Track and evaluate investments , assessing both costs and benefits through stakeholder coordination while ensuring all justifications are well-supported and critically assessed.
Develop and maintain Excel models to proactively analyze product line performance, summarizing key insights and takeaways for business leaders.
Influence decision-making by effectively communicating insights, providing strong rationale for recommendations, and taking end-to-end ownership of tasks.
Ensure accurate ICAP reporting within critical management presentations, including Board Decks, Quarterly Financial Reviews, Strategy Reports, and Business Reviews.
Ability to understand and interpret operating metrics like Sales, Run rate, Retention and its impact on the business
Adapt swiftly to changes , delivering high-quality outputs with precision and minimal turnaround time.
Work independently while collaborating effectively within larger teams on shared initiatives, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and teamwork.
Apply strong FP&A expertise to support budgeting, forecasting, and responding to queries related to financial performance.
Drive standardization and automation of existing reports across various segments and functions to enhance efficiency.
Leverage advanced PowerPoint skills to create high-impact management reports, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and effectiveness in executive presentations.
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
Bachelor s degree in Finance or Accounting is required; CA or MBA in Finance is preferred.
Expertise in MS PowerPoint with the ability to create high-quality management reports and presentations.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel with strong analytical capabilities; experience with macros and large database management is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills , with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Proven stakeholder management experience , demonstrating the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
Strong team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work seamlessly with colleagues.
Extensive finance experience in a professional business environment, with a solid understanding of financial principles and reporting.
Proactive and analytical mindset , with a strong initiative to drive improvements and optimize financial processes.
