A Technical Project manager is responsible for ensuring that key projects and engineering duties are fulfilled. They are responsible for solving any engineering issue that comes up in a project. A few of the main duties of an TPM are answering technical questions, proposing budgets for projects, training new employees, and working with various other departments. They also have to prepare reports on the progress of any project. 

• Lead large and complex application Java, Springboot, microservices transformations advocating and guiding the overall transformation program 
• Develop a backlog of stories centered on continuous modernization of the applications in scope. 
• Complete tasks and stories assigned to you in the backlog. 
• Tenaciously champion core behaviors like collaboration, communication, and ownership. 
• Experience with micro-services or cloud-based architectures for enterprise solutions 
• Coordinate with project managers, business analysts, developers, operations teams to understand platform requirements, the system & data, and evangelize ways to drive quality and value to the client stakeholders 
• Champion the establishment and continued use of best practices 
• Provide training and coaching as needed to teams modernizing and transforming applications.  
• Support release planning preparation and event facilitation 
• Build high-performing teams across development, quality assurance, and infrastructure. 
• Share best practices for design & development. 
• Drive the teams triaging capability by taking on challenging problems not understood by front-line support teams 
• Continuously review the technology landscape and advise clients on emerging technology solutions to drive differentiation in our services value proposition 
• Experience with enterprise-level software delivery and release management practices 
• Experience in configuring/administering Azure Services, Kubernetes, Kafka or other 
• Experience with modern cloud architecture patterns and approaches. 
• Ability to create and effectively deliver technology solution presentations to address specific customer needs 
• Working knowledge of cloud-based infrastructures, SDLC pipelines, Agile, and deployments/configurations and definition/evangelism of best practices/standards 
• Demonstrated expertise in architecting, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade technical solutions meeting complex business requirements while evangelizing integration methodologies and helping business case justification to C-level executives 
• Development experience in languages such as Java Microservices, React JS, Mainframe, Analytics, UX or others. 
• Deep practice experience in modernizing applications into PaaS, Containers, Kubernetes, Serverless, or other modern cloud technologies.

The TPM is responsible for:

planning and designing the program and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action

defining the program's governance arrangements

ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the program - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the program, and outwardly on its coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other programs and corporate, technical and specialist standards

facilitating the appointment of individuals to project teams

ensuring the delivery of new products or services from projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the program plan and program governance arrangements

ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the program's individual projects

managing third party contributions to the program

managing communications with all stakeholders

managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects

managing risks to the program's successful outcome

working with the business change manager or equivalent on the transition to the new business as usual position

initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the program are identified or issues arise

reporting the progress of the program at regular intervals to the client and internal stakeholders
