Lead Media Subsystem Driver Development Engineer

1. Requirement understanding, design, development, debugging and unit-testing of Multimedia subsystem linux kernel drivers or surrounding areas
2. Debugging of complex technical issues and provide the solution
3. Documentation Requirement Specification and Design etc.
4. Leading team of 3 to 4 engineers
5. Effort estimation, planning, customer interaction

1. 5 - 7 years of experience in Embedded Software with strong command over C/CPP
2. Expertise on any one of the Linux kernel media frameworks (e.g. V4L2, DRM-KMS, ALSA-ASoC etc)
3. Experienced with implementing audio-video capture/display drivers for interfaces like HDMI, DisplayPort, SDI, MIPI CSI/DSI, DVI, VGA, PCIe, I2S, SPDIF... or Audio-Video processing kernel drivers like, Video/Audio TPG (Test Pattern Generator), Video Scaler, Color Conversion, Interlacer/De-interlacer, Gamma correction, Demosaic, chroma resampler, Scene change detection, ALSA ASoC drivers (Machine driver, CPU DAI driver, Codec DAI driver, PCM/DMA Driver)
4. Proficient at System level debugging, Reverse engineering, Linux Internals and Protocol level knowledge of interfaces
5. Basic knowledge of audio and video terminologies
6. Hands on experience on any one of the debugging tools like GDB, KGDB, JTAG, ADB
7. Familiarity with tools like Logic Analyzer, Phabrix Analyzer, BlackMagic or AJA SDI/HDMI Converters, DSO/CRO, Spectrum Analyzer would be added advantage
8. Familiarity with development using Host - Target tool chains for embedded platforms
9. Sound knowledge of SW development tools such as Git, CVS, Confluence, JIRA, bit-bucket, SourceTree etc. is must
10. Good in documentation & shall be able to prepare the specification, design documents from requirements
11. Reading schematics, datasheets, technical reference manual and Silicon revision sheet
12. Passionate about learning new technologies, methodologies, strategies and processes
13. Good sense of responsibility, teamwork and timeline
14. Excellent written and verbal communication
15. Self-starter, problem-solving mentality, and creative thinker

1. Independently lead the module with 3 or 4 engineers
2. Good knowledge of working with Open-source software packages is preferred
3. Contribution to open source linux kernel codebase is an added advantage.
4. Close cooperation with other leaders and projects managers

Education Requirements: B. Tech / M Tech (ECE/ EEE/ CSE/ IT)
