Demonstrate a good understanding of catastrophe modelling after structured training.
Learn best practices in catastrophe modelling and reflect this in your day-to-day work.
Overall responsible for model testing and providing high-quality analysis of modelled results.
Generate insight reviews of model component sensitivity and resulting outputs through a series of analyses.
Involve the latest technology, additional data sources and domain knowledge in the model testing and model review process.
Proactively participate and provide critical support in the model review process and development of risk model components.
Develop and maintain documentation on model testing and model review activities.
Effectively communicate complex technical or scientific concepts, both verbally and in writing
Ability to investigate and solve problems
Experience Required:
Preferably P.hD / Postgraduate (M. Tech) in Structural Engineering/Civil Engineering, Atmospheric Science, Earth Science or Environmental Science from a reputable institution such as IITs, NITs.
Must have 2 - 5 years of RMS experience in Nat Cat model development/RiskLink analysis.
Knowledge of insurance, reinsurance domain and catastrophic modelling software (RMS RiskLink, AIR Touchstone etc.) will be given additional weightage.
Strong foundation in analytics and data analysis and processing.
Critical thinking skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Working experience with both statistical and scientific languages R, Python, C/C++, FORTRAN, MATLAB etc. is essential.
Good exposure of MS SQL, MS Access, MS Excel (on writing macros) is desirable.
VBA and VB.Net is an added advantage as are a working knowledge of GIS application tools (MapInfo, ArcInfo).
