POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Database Administrator is a hands-on technical resource who provides L4 support for our enterprise customers;
As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining highly available EDB PostgreSQL and MySQL database environments;
The role will include database architecture design, performance tuning, replication setup,
backup and recovery, and ensuring data security;
The candidate will need to have strong communication and problem-solving skills along with a
strong willingness to learn new technologies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration of PostgreSQL and Snowflake databases throughout the development and
production of lifecycles in an Azure environment;
Design and develop logical and physical database designs from customer requirements;
Collaborate and provide best practice guidance to the development team;
Provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures;
Support the standards, policies and procedures of the DBA team;
Understand monitoring and alerting databases;
Collaborate with other DBAs and Infrastructure team members to develop automation scripts
for managing databases and data in various environments;
Create automated pipelines for Database deployments;
Performance tuning;
Knowledge and implementation of RBAC.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

8 to 12 years of experience in database administration;
Proven experience in administering PostgreSQL databases;
Strong knowledge of database architecture design and performance optimization;
Experience in developing backup and recovery plans and managing database security;
Proficiency in fine-tuning SQL queries and implementing high availability and replication
solutions;
Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools, as well as automation and scripting;
The DBA needs to have worked in Azure on Postgres;
Postgres versions should be recent;
Needs to have worked on automating database deployments /CICD;
Understands the product they work on;
Clear communication skills.
