Job Description

Application Technology acts as a service unit to the 3 business sectors Life Science, Electronics and Healthcare at Merck
On behalf of these business units, we take care of implementation and operation of manufacturing IT systems on a global basis, covering many production sites and various product lines
In your role as service delivery manager and system owner of global manufacturing IT platforms, you will be responsible for the operation of various global MES and Data Historian platforms at Merck
This includes the following responsibilities
Ensure the operation of various MES and DH platforms according to KPIs together with your team, most of them on a 24x7 basisEnsure proper qualification of all components throughout these platforms according to Merck standards, as well as other parameters of compliance in a GxP environmentIn coordination with other IT teams at Merck, define and maintain disaster recovery plans and execute the respective testsDefine and supervise all best practices, processes and standard operating procedures specific to the platforms in your portfolioManage incidents, changes, problems, downtime, security etc according to ITIL standardsSupport implementation activities, evolutionary maintenance and life cycle projects Be the first point of contact to the management and stakeholders in case of any severe incident, outage or disruptionActively manage life cycle of platforms with respect to all relevant components Coordinate external vendors, ensure coverage by service contracts and manage budget Manage a team of internal experts as well as external service providers that support you in your responsibilities mentioned above Who You Are:You hold a Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Engineering or Natural Science
12+ years of experience in the IT sector, of which at least 5 years as the service delivery manager in charge of a business-critical system and as a team managerYou have a strong technical background in manufacturing IT systems, ideally Pas-X, Aspentech, OPCenter and OSI-PI You are up to speed with current technical standards and trends such as ISA95, IT/OT convergence, cloud technology, IT automation technology and others
Ideally you have working experience with KubernetesPharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing processes as well as the related quality control procedures are largely familiar to youYou take the ownership of your platforms by defining, defending and executing the required activities, also in critical situations and under pressureYou represent a strong customer orientation and governance, which you can communicate and explain on all organizational levels Job Location: Electronic City, Bangalore
