Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Design Quality Manager to lead the design and Quality during execution stages of a greenfield project to construct a state-of-the-art food processing plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the engineering design, coordinating with a local EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) firm, and ensuring compliance with global equipment standards. Additionally, this role includes managing Building Information Modeling (BIM) to enhance design and construction efficiency. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders to deliver a high-quality facility on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership and Coordination: Lead the engineering design phase of the project and serve as the primary point of contact between the project team and the EPCM design team. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Design and Engineering: Oversee the development of detailed engineering designs and specifications for the plant, ensuring they meet global equipment standards. Review and approve design documents, drawings, and technical specifications provided by the EPCM firm. Ensure that all engineering designs adhere to industry best practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) Management: Implement and manage the BIM process throughout the design and construction phases. Coordinate with the EPCM firm and internal teams to develop and maintain the BIM model. Ensure the BIM model is updated regularly and accurately reflects the design and construction progress. Utilize BIM for clash detection, design validation, and construction planning. Train and support project team members in the use of BIM tools and processes
  • Project Execution and Management: Develop and manage the project schedule for design-based activities, ensuring that all milestones are met. Monitor and control project costs to stay within the allocated budget. Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on the project timeline and budget.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement quality control processes to ensure the integrity and reliability of engineering designs. Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international standards and regulations. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports to the project team and other stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication among project team members, the EPCM firm, and other relevant parties. Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the design and execution phases.
  • Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project efficiency. Ensure that all team members are adequately trained and equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in project management and engineering design. Stay updated with the latest advancements in food processing technology and engineering methodologies to enhance project outcomes.

  • Achievement of project milestones and overall project success.
About You:
  • Education Certifications:
    • Bachelor s or master s degree in Engineering,
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Experience Skills:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering project management, with a focus on food processing or related industries.
    • Proven track record of managing large-scale greenfield projects.
    • Strong understanding of global equipment standards and regulatory requirements in the food processing industry.
    • Excellent project management skills, including proficiency with project management software.
    • Knowledge of Indian regulations, and best practices.
  • Communication:
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including English.
    • Ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptability:
    • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Travel:
    • Travel domestically and internationally may be required within the role.
