you will be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth within the liability products portfolio of a financial institution. You will work closely with the sales team, relationship managers, and other stakeholders to identify business opportunities, acquire new clients, and expand existing customer relationships. Your role will involve developing sales strategies, managing sales processes, and meeting sales targets. This position requires strong sales acumen, relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of liability products and financial markets.
Responsibilities
Sales strategy and planning Develop and implement sales strategies and action plans to achieve sales targets and revenue goals for liability products. Identify market opportunities, customer segments, and product positioning strategies to maximize sales effectiveness.
Business development Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting and acquiring new clients. Build a strong pipeline of potential customers through lead generation, referrals, networking, and other sales techniques. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify key differentiators and value propositions.Relationship management Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to maximize cross-selling and upselling opportunities. Understand clients' needs, financial objectives, and risk appetite to recommend suitable liability products and solutions. Provide exceptional customer service and act as a trusted advisor to clients, addressing their inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.Sales process management Manage the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and lead qualification to deal closure and contract negotiation.
Collaborate with internal teams, including product specialists, credit analysts, and operations, to ensure a smooth and efficient sales process. Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, pipeline reports, and sales activity metrics.Product knowledge and market trends Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor offerings in the liability products space.
Develop a deep understanding of the institution's liability product portfolio, including savings accounts, current accounts, fixed deposits, certificates of deposit, and other deposit-based products. Keep abreast of industry best practices and recommend product enhancements or new product development opportunities.Sales presentations and proposals Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to clients, showcasing the benefits and features of liability products.
Tailor presentations to address specific client needs and highlight value propositions. Collaborate with product specialists and subject matter experts to create customized solutions that meet client requirements.Sales performance tracking and reporting Track sales performance against targets, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, sales volume, cross-selling ratios, and customer acquisition costs. Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and insights to management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
Make recommendations for sales process improvements and performance enhancements.Compliance and risk management Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements in all sales activities. Adhere to Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures. Identify and manage sales-related risks, escalating issues and concerns as necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Additional certifications or professional qualifications in sales or banking are advantageous.Proven experience in sales, business development, or relationship management within the banking or financial services industry, with a focus on liability products.Strong knowledge of liability products and financial markets, including savings accounts, current accounts, fixed deposits, certificates of deposit, and other deposit-based products.Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving sales targets and building client relationships.
Strong business acumen and understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape.Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer insights to drive sales strategies.
Customer-centric approach, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and building long-term client relationships.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple sales opportunities concurrently.Self-motivated and driven to succeed in a competitive sales environment.Proficiency in using CRM software and sales productivity tools.Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to sales activities in the financial industry.
