About the Job:
- Responsible for implementing ESG Framework in the organization and maintenance of healthy working relationships with stakeholders at all levels with the intention of advocating for the company's interests.
- Ensure significance of ESG in the organization's strategy and commitment towards sustainability and responsible business practices while working towards getting required certifications and its implementation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Development:
- Shape organization's ESG strategy including identification of key environmental, social, and governance issues, and developing a comprehensive plan to address them.
- Getting organization ready for various ESG related certifications and ensuring sustainability of developed systems and mechanisms through Audits.
- Identify and evaluate ESG risks and opportunities, and integrate these into business planning and decision-making processes.
Environment:
- Oversee environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives, including waste management, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to implement environmental improvement projects.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits, and ensure adherence to local, state, and Central environmental regulations.
Social:
- Drive community engagement and social investment programs that enhance the company's reputation and support local communities.
ESG:
- Develop and maintain ESG policies, procedures, and reporting frameworks.
- Ensure transparent and accurate ESG reporting, including sustainability reports and disclosures to stakeholders.
- Preparing ESG reports and ensuring compliance with relevant Frameworks like GRI, CDSB etc and standards like SASB, EFRAG etc.
- Stay current with ESG regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, investors, regulators, and community members, to communicate the company's ESG performance and initiatives.
- Represent the company in industry groups, sustainability forums, and at public events.
- Perform and deliver additional tasks as and when requested by senior and top management.
Requirements and Skills:
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is preferred.
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, or related roles, preferably within the Steel or manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting methodologies (e. , GRI, SASB, TCFD).
Functional Skills:
- Leadership and strategic thinking.
- Strong ethical standards and integrity.
- Innovative and proactive mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Certification in ESG or sustainability (e. , LEED, ISO 14001) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory compliances and documentation required for the continued production and other operations of the organization.
- Strong knowledge and experience of maintaining all relevant governmental, legal, and regulatory documentation and licenses for a steel manufacturing plant.
- Proficient with MS Office and other essential office productivity tools.
