Manager: Civil ( Fixed Term)

Job Summary:

Corporation is looking for a proficient Civil Engineer to oversee the maintenance, retrofit and new construction projects within our organization. The role involves managing day-to-day civil engineering operations, ensuring compliance with Indian standards and local regulations, and handling retrofit and new branch setup work. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role requires coordination with various internal departments, external contractors, architects, engineers and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Operations:

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of building structures, including offices, utilities, and other infrastructure.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and safety of all civil structures.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve structural issues promptly.

Retrofit & Renovation Projects:

• Manage and execute retrofit projects aimed at upgrading existing structures to meet new safety standards, efficiency improvements, or functional requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants to design and implement effective retrofit solutions.
• Ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations during retrofit activities.

New Shifting & Construction Projects:

• Plan and manage the civil engineering aspects of the existing campus, offices in Mumbai, new branch setups (pan India) , including site selection, layout design, and construction.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors to ensure that new construction projects meet company standards and are completed on time and within budget.
• Oversee the repair, maintenance, relocation/ shifting of facilities, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal operational impact.

Compliance & Standards:

• Ensure that all civil engineering activities comply with Indian standards (such as IS codes) NBC 2016, UDCPR 2020, DCPR 2034, The BOCW Act and local applicable regulations.
• Be aware of and obtain necessary permits and approvals from local authorities for construction, maintenance, repair, retrofit and shifting etc. projects.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance, construction, and compliance activities.

Project Management:

• Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for all civil engineering projects, including retrofit and new construction.
• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to schedules and budgets.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks.

Safety & Risk Management:

• Implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment during construction and maintenance activities.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
• Train staff on safety practices and emergency response procedures related to civil works.

Communication & Collaboration:

• Work closely with the facility management team to align civil engineering operations with overall facility objectives.
• Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to stakeholders, including management, staff, and external partners.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other departments as needed.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for civil engineering issues.
• Analyse structural performance data and recommend improvements to enhance building safety and functionality.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry best practices in civil engineering.

Any other role and responsibility which may be assigned as per requirement of the Corporation.

Additional Skill Sets

• Technical Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, building codes, and construction practices.
• Familiarity with Indian standards (IS codes) and local regulations related to civil engineering.
• Proficiency in civil design software and tools.

Eligibility Criteria:

Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply

Minimum Age Limit: 30 years as on 30-November-2024

Maximum Age Limit: 40 years as on 30-November-2024

Educational Qualification Criteria :-

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 60% aggregate marks from AICTE approved Institutions / Universities or
• 3 year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a Polytechnic institutions, affiliated with either state technical boards or AICTE with minimum 60% aggregate marks
• Professional certifications: Chartered Engineer or equivalent is preferred

Experience:

• Minimum of 12 years of experience for Diploma holders and 10 years of experience for Degree holders in Civil Engineering, preferably in facility management, retrofit, or construction projects.
• Proven experience in managing civil engineering projects in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Must have worked along with contractors, architects, engineers etc. for a major part of the experience duration
