Job Responsibilities:
Commodity Procurement Management:
- Lead procurement activities for central commodities such as metals, plastics, and other raw materials required for electronics manufacturing.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of bulk quantities to meet production demands.
- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize procurement operations for direct materials.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure favorable agreements.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
Sourcing Strategy & Planning:
- Define and implement sourcing strategies for central commodities to support business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, R&D) to align procurement plans with business requirements.
- Analyze market trends to anticipate price fluctuations and mitigate supply chain risks.
Cost Optimization & Budget Management:
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement across the supply chain.
- Manage the procurement budget for central commodities and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Lead initiatives to standardize materials and consolidate supplier bases where applicable.
Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:
- Collaborate with the inventory management team to ensure adequate stock levels of commodities to avoid production delays.
- Develop and implement demand forecasting and inventory planning models for bulk materials.
- Coordinate with logistics teams for the timely delivery of sourced materials.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements in the sourcing and procurement of commodities.
- Maintain detailed records of sourcing, vendor contracts, and procurement activities.
Team Leadership & Vendor Development:
- Lead a team of procurement and sourcing professionals to execute commodity strategies.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide development opportunities for team members.
- Work on vendor development programs to enhance the quality and availability of required commodities.
Reporting & Data Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance, including cost savings, supplier performance, and risk assessments.
- Utilize data-driven insights to make informed procurement decisions and improve the sourcing process.
Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field. MBA in Supply Chain Management would be an added advantage.
- Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management, specifically in central commodities within the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Industry Experience: Electronics Manufacturing, Consumer Electronics, Electrical Components, or related industries.
