Electrical Engineer - Maintenance

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in maintaining extrusion machines within the pipe industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting work on electrical systems while adhering to environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role involves maintaining static equipment, following safe work permit systems, managing tools, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Major Activities:

1. Electrical System Maintenance: Perform highly skilled maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting work on electrical systems, adhering to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
2. Inspection and Testing: Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
3. Fault Identification and Rectification: Identify faults and defects accurately and carry out necessary rectifications.
4. Cabling and Equipment Replacement: Terminate cabling and replace equipment as needed.
5. Power Distribution Management: Ensure quick and efficient operation of electrical equipment and distribution of electrical power to different plant sections in case of grid or CPP failure, coordinating closely with user/consumer departments.
6. Safe Handling of HT and LT Equipment: Work safely with high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) equipment.
7. Installation and Repair: Install, service, and repair lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets, wiring, and specialized electrical equipment and machinery.
8. Tool Operation: Operate power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment.
9. Circuit Diagram Reading: Read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams.
10. Parameter Monitoring: Monitor and record equipment parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, and energy.
11. Training and Development: Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
12. Size Change Procedures: Follow size change checklists and complete necessary documentation.
13. Heater Provisioning: Provide heaters for die bushes as instructed by the SIC.
14. Shift Change Documentation: Record work done during shifts in log books and communicate pending job lists to the next shift engineer.
15. Breakdown Prioritization: Discuss breakdown priorities with the SIC in case of multiple simultaneous breakdowns.
16. Plant Rounds: Conduct at least one round per shift of all plant areas (mixer, utility, extrusion, mixer PCC, extrusion PCC) and note any abnormalities.
17. Leakage Prevention: Prevent and address air, water, and oil leakages.
18. Reporting: Report to the sectional head at the end of each shift on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

• Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in maintaining extrusion machines within the pipe industry.
• Wide knowledge and ability in Electric Installation, overhauling and repair & maintenance.
• Proper Identifications of faults / defects & their rectification.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and safety standards.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
