Job Requirements:
An SAP TAX OTC Engineer with expertise in E-Invoicing, SAF-T (Standard Audit File for Tax), and Indirect Tax Derivation manages tax-related processes in the Order-to-Cash (OTC) cycle. Their primary responsibilities include ensuring tax calculations, invoicing, and reporting comply with global and local regulations, and automating tax compliance through e-invoicing, SAF-T reporting, and tax determination.
Key Responsibilities:
- E-Invoicing Setup and Integration : Implement e-invoicing solutions (eg, SAP Document Compliance, Peppol), ensure compliance with country-specific mandates, integrate external tax engines, and automate invoice submissions.
- SAF-T Reporting: Configure SAF-T for compliance with tax audit requirements, automate data extraction, and manage periodic SAF-T submissions.
- Indirect Tax Derivation : Design tax determination rules for VAT, GST, and sales tax, integrate tax calculation with pricing, and ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
- OTC Process Optimization : Manage tax processes from sales order to financial posting, configure tax jurisdiction codes, and align tax with pricing.
- Cross-Module Integration : Ensure SAP FI and SD integration for accurate tax determination and indirect tax engine integration.
- Audit Support & Compliance : Maintain audit trails, stay updated on tax law changes, and monitor compliance across all regions.
- Custom Enhancements : Develop custom ABAP solutions, enhance functionality with BAdIs, and design interfaces for government tax submissions.
- Testing & Support : Conduct testing (unit, UAT), resolve issues in tax processes, and proactively improve tax-related functions.
- Collaboration : Work with cross-functional teams to gather tax requirements and ensure system compliance, while providing training and documentation.
- System Upgrades & Compliance : Manage system upgrades, monitor tax law changes, and ensure compliance updates.
Key Skills: E-Invoicing expertise, SAF-T knowledge, indirect tax compliance, SAP FI/SD/MM experience, ABAP development, and strong problem-solving skills.
In summary, the role ensures tax compliance, accuracy in tax processes, and optimized OTC operations, requiring deep knowledge of global tax regulations and SAP.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology (IT), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A Master s Degree in any of the above fields or in Taxation/Finance is a plus, especially for roles that involve complex tax compliance and financial processes.
- SAP Certifications (Preferred):
SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) and MM (Materials Management) module certifications, focusing on taxation processes.
SAP Document Compliance certifications related to e-invoicing would be a plus
Experience Summary:
- Overall Experience:
5-8 years in SAP SD with a focus on tax functionality; 3-5 years in E-Invoicing, SAF-T reporting, and Indirect Tax Derivation. Experience working in SAP FI and MM is a plus - E-Invoicing:
Configuring e-invoicing solutions (eg, SAP Document Compliance, Peppol) with experience in country-specific mandates (eg, India GST, EU VAT). - SAF-T Reporting:
Expertise in configuring SAF-T for compliance (eg, Portugal, Norway) and managing data extraction and submission. - Indirect Tax Derivation:
Proven experience in VAT, GST, and sales tax determination using SAP tax procedures and tax engine OneSource - Integration and Customization:
Integrating third-party tax engines and working with ABAP teams for custom solutions. - SAP Module Expertise:
Deep knowledge of SAP SD and cross-module tax integration. Knowledge of SAP FI MM and BRIM FICA would be a plus - Audit and Compliance:
Experience with tax audits, ensuring compliance, and staying updated on tax laws. - Additional Skills :
Problem-solving, cross-functional communication, project management, and strong knowledge of global tax regulations.
