Job Description
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize AMD IP middleware drivers for Linux.
Contribute to upstream repositories and engage with the open-source community.
Implement and validate advanced display features like HDR, FreeSync, and scaling.
Debug issues across Linux compositors (Xserver, Wayland, etc.) and validate drivers through testing.
Work with cross-functional teams and maintain clear documentation.
Must have
7+ years of overall development experience in Linux-based ecosystem
5+ years of experience with C/C++ programming
Familiarity with at least one of the Linux-based windowing systems/compositors
Xserver/DDX driver
Wayland/Weston
Wlroots based compositors like Sway/KDE etc
Surfaceflinger/Hardware composer
Xen/QEMU/libSDL
Nice to have
Understanding of advanced display features (HDR, Freesync, Color management, Scaling etc)
Understanding of any of the Linux Direct Rendering Manager (DRM) subsystem component
DRM KMS drivers
DRM GPU driver
MESA winsys
OpenGL
Multimedia
Exposure to opensource development process
