Data Science- Senior Associate

About DS/AI Competency Center:

Focuses on leveraging data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to extract insights, build predictive models, and develop AI powered solutions. Utilizes Exploratory Data Analysis, Statistical Modeling and Machine Learning, Model Deployment, and Integration as well as Model Monitoring and Maintenance. Delivers business solutions using multiple AI techniques and tools.

Tasks:

The key duties are:

• Providing technical expertise for high-impact initiatives that demand skills in data science, advanced modeling, and optimization.
• Independently develop, test, and deploy machine learning solutions.
• Develop statistical, machine learning and mathematical models and execute deployment of these solutions in non-GMP and controlled GMP environment.
• Apply engineering principles, modeling tools, and experimental skills using data-rich lab/pilot/manufacturing equipment to improve process understanding and facilitate real-time process monitoring and control.
• Work with diverse teams and stakeholders, keep project leads updated on progress, and ensure projects move forward promptly.
• Identify high value opportunities for applying Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and develop and deploy innovative tailored solutions in manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

Must Have:

• Master s degree or preferably PhD in Bioprocess, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or similar field.
  
• Expert-level knowledge in Python is a must .
• Ability to perform data engineering on real world big-data ranging from structured time-series datasets with thousands of features.
• Knowledge of Cell Culture, Fermentation and Vaccines Conjugation
• Proven experience in leveraging data science and machine learning techniques on real-world data for insights and decision support.
• Hands-on familiarity with the testing and deployment pipeline for ML solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in diverse cross-functional teams on innovative solutions and tools with an open attitude towards fast learning.
• Knowledge of upstream and downstream Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience of storytelling technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.
• Independent, self-motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Expertise in first principles (thermodynamics, reaction modeling, heat transfer, mass transfer principles), hybrid modeling. Ability to develop practical process models for real-time applications is a strong plus.
• Experience deploying Interpretable Machine Learning or Explainable AI and knowledge of Shapley values and plots
• Experience in cloud-based code development and deployment environments such as AWS SageMaker.
• Familiarity with cloud computing based data-warehouses such as Snowflake or Redshift, and relational SQL databases.
• Familiarity with data visualization and real-time GUIs using Streamlit, Plotly, Spotfire, etc.
