ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Writes code for enhancements of product as per product design and business requirements
• Analyze issues / bugs, writes code to fix issues
• Follows software engineering practices with strict adherence to assurance processes
• Provide effort and time estimates for development
• Manages own work flow and be accountable for delivery
• Participates in scrum/design meetings
• Write unit test cases and performs unit testing before releasing code for testing by QC team
• Uses JIRA as an engineering tool for creating tasks, work log, updating work progress, effort

logging, logging reviews etc.

• Performs other duties as assigned and prioritized.
• Escalate any delays in work assigned, issues in products or otherwise to the reporting manager.
• Work together with the team to address issues and meet delivery timelines.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• A university degree in computer science
• Minimum 4 years of experience in backend development
• 2+ years of experience with java 8+ development
• Experience with .Net, Groovy, Go and other languages considered an asset but not mandatory
• Comfortable working on both Windows & Linux OS
• Possess sound knowledge of web technologies (HTTP, web containers, Servlets, RESTfulAPI,

etc.)

• Good knowledge of SQL databases (writing queries, stored procedures, triggers, etc.)
• Understanding of Network protocols TCPIP, HTTP, TLS/SSL
• Understanding of sound end-to-end software development processes, and supporting tools

such as IDEs, SCM and automated testing systems

• Team player, and also capable of taking responsibility for projects with a minimum of

supervision

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
