Overview
As part of the dynamic Global Revenue team, we are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant who is highly familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures. We need an individual who embraces challenges, and can leverage their experience, educational background, and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
The Senior Revenue Accountant will provide technical and operational expertise in revenue recognition, particularly under ASC 606, applying US GAAP requirements to systems, data, and processes. This position also requires a strong understanding of SOX controls and the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have a solid technical accounting background and proven experience analyzing complex accounting challenges. A CA/CPA with strong analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to influence change through effective communication, is essential.
You will
Assist in drafting technical accounting memos to support new products and contracts, including multiple-element arrangements and principal-agent assessments for new partners and vendors that impact revenue and fulfillment.
Contribute to the month-end revenue close process and related reconciliations, ensuring revenue is accurately reported for both internal and external purposes. Prepare key revenue reserves, such as AR reserves, sales returns, and credit reserves. Review revenue transactions, journal entries, and key account reconciliations to ensure compliance with GAAP. Identify opportunities to implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls within revenue accounting. Assess risks, implement controls, and maintain appropriate documentation and evidence to comply with SOX requirements. Support the annual financial statement audit and assist with periodic internal audits to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance. Work closely with other Business Units and Finance teams to provide guidance based on the company s revenue recognition policies and procedures. Assist with external SEC reporting, ad-hoc requests, and revenue-related analytics as needed. Occasional travel may be required as necessary.
You have
A Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance. CA/CPA preferred. At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2+ years of specialized experience in revenue recognition (ASC 606). A strong technical accounting background with excellent documentation skills. Proven ability to communicate complex accounting issues clearly to all levels of management, both in writing and verbally. A thorough understanding of SOX compliance and experience managing SOX controls. Experience working with large data sets, SQL queries, and modelling Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with revenue management systems (experience with Oracle ERP or similar systems is a plus). Experience with Power Query and Power Pivot is also a plus. Big 4 firm experience with a focus on revenue recognition is a plus.
