Estimation Engineer

Job Summary:

The Estimation Engineer will play a key role in providing cost estimates, budgeting, and quantity takeoffs for real estate development projects. Working remotely as part of the back-office team supporting US-based projects, the role involves analyzing project plans, identifying cost factors, and preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The Estimation Engineer will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and the US-based team to ensure that project costs are well-managed and aligned with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for real estate development projects, including quantities, materials, labor, and overheads.
• Collaboration with US-based Teams:
• Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to gather necessary information and ensure that cost estimates align with project requirements.
• Tender and Bid Preparation:
• Assist in preparing tender documents, proposals, and bid submissions, ensuring that all necessary cost components are accounted for.
• Cost Control and Monitoring:
• Track actual project costs against estimates, ensuring that the project remains within budget.
• Market Research and Benchmarking:
• Conduct market research to stay updated on material prices, labor rates, and market trends in the US to ensure accurate cost estimates.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of cost estimates, budgets, and any changes to the projects scope that affect costs.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Certifications in cost estimation (e.g., Certified Estimator) or Project Management (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
• 4+ years of experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and quantity surveying, preferably within real estate development, construction, or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with the real estate development lifecycle, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
• Experience working remotely or supporting US-based teams is an advantage.
