JD: Key Responsibilities: Dialysis Treatment Assistance: Assist nephrologists and nurses in performing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis procedures for patients with kidney failure or chronic kidney disease (CKD). Ensure equipment is properly set up and functioning for each treatment session. Patient Monitoring: Monitor patient vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels, etc.) before, during, and after dialysis treatment. Track changes and alert the healthcare team to any abnormalities or issues. Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain dialysis machines and related equipment, ensuring that they are calibrated, sanitized, and in optimal working condition. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with equipment as necessary. Patient Preparation & Care: Prepare patients for dialysis by explaining the procedure, assessing their readiness, and assisting with any pre-treatment requirements such as vascular access or catheter care. Provide comfort and support throughout the treatment process. Vascular Access Management: Assist in the management of vascular access sites (e.g., arteriovenous fistula, central venous catheter). Monitor access points for any complications, such as infections or clotting. Data Collection & Documentation: Accurately record patient data, including treatment information, vitals, and any complications or side effects. Maintain patient records and ensure that all documentation is compliant with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards. Patient Education: Provide patients with information regarding their dialysis treatment, lifestyle adjustments, diet recommendations, and post-treatment care to enhance their understanding and cooperation. Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with nephrologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. Assist in coordinating care plans and updating patient treatment records as required. Infection Control & Safety Compliance: Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Adhere to health and safety guidelines related to dialysis treatment and equipment.
