Roles & Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to drive growth and increase sales within the steel category. Set clear goals and align strategies with overall business objectives to achieve desired outcomes.
- Category and Grade Level Metrics: Develop and manage metrics at both the category and grade level to measure performance, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Utilize these metrics to drive decision-making and operational improvements.
- Category Growth: Drive the growth of steel category, including product launches, promotional activities, and merchandising strategies. Ensure successful execution of category plans to achieve sales targets and maximize gross margins.
- Budget Management: Oversee and manage the category budget, including cost estimation, tracking, and financial reporting. Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Vendor Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure favorable pricing and supply agreements. Monitor vendor performance and address any issues that arise.
- Operational Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the steel category, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and quality control. Ensure that operations are efficient and align with category objectives
- Inventory Management: Ensure optimal inventory levels by monitoring and managing stock availability, forecasting demand, and implementing inventory control measures to prevent shortages and excess stock. Develop and execute strategies to improve inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs while maintaining high service levels.
- Product Range Oversight: Manage and optimize the product range, including Hot Rolled (HR), Cold Rolled (CR), and Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled (HRPO) steel products, ensuring a comprehensive and competitive offering in the market. Analyze market trends and customer needs to expand and adjust the product portfolio effectively.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive category growth, improve market positioning, and achieve sales targets. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and supply chain, to align strategies and execute business plans effectively.
- Performance Monitoring & Improvement: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory turnover, sales performance, and operational efficiency. Identify areas for improvement and implement initiatives to enhance performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Market Insights and Expansion: Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for category expansion and prioritization. Develop actionable insights to guide category rollouts and growth initiatives.
- Sales and Margin Management: Drive sales performance and manage gross margins for the steel category. Implement strategies to optimize pricing, promotions, and product assortment to achieve financial targets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure alignment and support for category objectives. Facilitate effective communication and teamwork across functions.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present reports on category performance, including sales, margins, and market trends. Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
