Job Title: Area Service Incharge
Reports to: Service Manager or Regional Service Manager

Job Summary: The Area Service Incharge oversees the service operations for diesel engines and automobile products within a designated region. This role involves managing service teams, ensuring customer satisfaction, handling repairs and maintenance, and driving service excellence. The Area Service Incharge ensures adherence to quality standards, manages customer complaints, and ensures efficient operations of the service department within their area.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Service Operations Management:
    • Supervise and manage service centers within the assigned region for timely and quality service delivery of diesel engines and automobiles.
    • Ensure that all service processes (repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics) are executed in compliance with company guidelines and manufacturer standards.
    • Coordinate with the service team to ensure efficient execution of service tasks and optimal use of resources.
    • Ensure that all service operations meet safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  2. Team Leadership & Supervision:
    • Lead, train, and motivate a team of service technicians, mechanics, and support staff.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and guidance to the team.
    • Organize skill development and training programs to keep the team updated with the latest technologies and service techniques for diesel engines and vehicles.
    • Ensure a collaborative and productive team environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  3. Customer Relationship Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers in the region, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Handle customer complaints, service requests, and technical issues, providing effective and timely solutions.
    • Monitor customer feedback, implement improvements based on feedback, and resolve any service-related concerns promptly.
    • Provide customers with detailed service information, cost estimates, and updates on the progress of repairs.
  4. Inventory and Parts Management:
    • Monitor and manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and service equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet customer service demands.
    • Ensure efficient parts ordering, receipt, and handling procedures to minimize service delays.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of parts and supplies.
  5. Service Scheduling & Planning:
    • Organize and prioritize service appointments and repair schedules to ensure timely service delivery and minimize vehicle downtime for customers.
    • Allocate jobs and resources efficiently based on the urgency of service requests.
    • Oversee the timely completion of service work and ensure that service timelines are adhered to.
  6. Quality Control & Performance Monitoring:
    • Conduct regular inspections of the service operations to ensure the quality of repairs and maintenance work.
    • Implement quality control measures to enhance service efficiency and minimize errors.
    • Analyze service performance and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer satisfaction, service times, and repair accuracy.
    • Ensure the highest standards of workmanship and quality in all service tasks.
  7. Budget & Cost Management:
    • Manage the service budget for the region, ensuring that service operations are cost-effective while maintaining high-quality standards.
    • Monitor and control service costs, including labor, parts, and overheads.
    • Implement strategies to reduce costs while maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction.
  8. Compliance & Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations related to diesel engine and automobile service operations.
    • Prepare regular reports on service activities, performance metrics, customer feedback, and financial data for management review.
    • Maintain accurate records of service jobs, customer interactions, and parts inventory.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications or training in diesel engine servicing and automobile maintenance is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a service management role in the diesel engine or automobile industry, with a strong background in managing service teams and operations.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, automobiles, and related systems, including diagnostic tools and repair techniques.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for customer interaction and team coordination.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially when handling complex technical issues.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize service jobs, and manage resources effectively.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Strong focus on customer satisfaction, with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
