An ideal MOLECULAR BIOLOGY SCIENTIST(MBS) would work in collaboration with the scientific team in terms of reviewing and assessing the data curation, in addition to developing genomic profiles based on NGS data. This role also requires the candidate to engage in discussion of the generated reports with clinicians.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop annotated genomic profiles of somatic aberrations based on NGS data in the studies of cancer-patient samples
Review and assess genomic variant calls using publicly available tools and databases in collaboration with the scientific team
Critically evaluate and investigate Variant Classifications based on recent developments and updates
Support and assist clinicians with regards to queries and interpretation of the report
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Comprehensive knowledge of (cancer) genetics and experience with Next-Generation Sequencing and Whole Exome sequence analysis
Substantive genomics research experience in a rigorous academic setting
A minimum of PhD or equivalent depth of knowledge with an experience of 1-4 years in molecular biology or genetics, especially with NGS applications in cancer
Strong command of the English language is mandatory
