Hiring Senior Resident Pediatrics at Dehradun

Role & responsibilities

1. Patient Monitoring & Management

• PICU:
  
• Continuous monitoring of critically ill pediatric patients.
• Management of respiratory distress, shock, sepsis, neurological emergencies, and post-operative pediatric patients.
• Handling ventilator support, inotropes, and fluid/electrolyte management.

• NICU:
  
• Monitoring and managing preterm/low birth weight neonates, neonatal sepsis, RDS, apnea, jaundice, and feeding issues.
• Managing ventilated neonates, CPAP, and oxygen therapy.
• Handling total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and thermoregulation.

2. Emergency & Code Blue Response

• Immediate response to cardiac or respiratory arrests (CPR, intubation, resuscitation).
• Handling neonatal and pediatric emergencies, including seizures, metabolic crises, and hemodynamic instability.

3. Procedures & Interventions

• Endotracheal intubation and securing airway.
• Central line, umbilical vein/artery catheterization, and peripheral IV access.
• Chest tube insertion and lumbar punctures.
• Exchange transfusions and surfactant administration in neonates.

4. Communication & Decision-Making

• Regularly updating consultants about critical cases.
• Communicating with on-duty nursing staff and ensuring proper execution of treatment plans.
• Informing and counseling parents about patient status.

5. Documentation & Handover

• Maintaining detailed patient records, including vitals, interventions, and progress notes.
• Providing a structured handover to the morning team for continuity of care.
