Senior Scientist Plant Pathologist Biopesticide R&D at Gurgaon

Role & responsibilities

Research and Development:

• Lead research projects aimed with development of innovative biopesticides/biofertilizers from natural organisms (such as fungi, bacteria, and plant-based compounds) and their metabolites.
• Study the biology, pathogenesis, and ecology of plant pests and diseases relevant to Indian agricultural systems, including fungal, bacterial, and viral pathogens.
• Develop innovative biocontrol strategies for managing emerging plant diseases and pests affecting key Indian crops.
• Investigate the mechanisms of action of biopesticides/biofertilizers and optimize their efficacy and transfer the same to the production team.

Formulation and Product Development:

• Lead the development and optimization of biopesticide/biofertilizer formulations, ensuring they are both effective in pest control and safe for the environment.
• Collaborate with formulation scientists to enhance the stability, shelf-life, and ease of use of biopesticide/biofertilizers products.
• Assist in scaling up promising biopesticide/biofertilizers for large-scale manufacturing.
• Monitor changes in Indian regulations related to biopesticides/biofertilizers and contribute to the strategic direction of product development to meet regulatory guidelines.

Collaboration and Cross-functional Coordination:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and regulatory teams, to support the successful development and launch of biopesticide products.
• Work with Indian agricultural research institutes, universities, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.
• Act as a scientific advisor for internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, on matters related to plant pathology and biopesticides.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Oversee data collection, statistical analysis, and interpretation to inform decision-making and product development strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive and organized records of research, experiments, and regulatory submissions.
• Prepare detailed reports on research progress and results for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management.
