Ibdp Mathematics Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and experienced IBDP Mathematics Teacher to join our dynamic and collaborative teaching team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience teaching IBDP Mathematics courses, such as Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA) and Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (AI). This role involves preparing students for success in the IBDP mathematics courses, implementing inquiry-based teaching strategies, and engaging students in developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, inquiry-based instruction for IBDP Mathematics courses (Standard Level and Higher Level) in either Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA) or Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (AI).
• Plan and execute lessons that align with the IBDP Mathematics curriculum, emphasizing conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Develop engaging, rigorous, and student-centered lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of learners in the classroom.
• Assess and track student progress using formative and summative assessments (including internal assessments and mock exams) to ensure students academic growth.
• Provide regular feedback to students to help them understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with other Mathematics teachers to review and enhance the curriculum, ensuring it meets the objectives of the IBDP framework.
• Adapt teaching materials and methods to suit the different learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
• Integrate appropriate educational technology tools (e.g., graphing calculators, software) into lesson plans to enhance student learning.
• Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to active learning and the exploration of mathematical concepts.
• Provide individual support and mentoring to students, helping them build both their mathematical skills and confidence.
• Assist students in preparing for the Internal Assessment (IA) component and other project-based assessments.
• Offer after-school or additional support sessions, where necessary, to help students improve or extend their mathematical learning.
• Foster an inquiry-based, reflective learning environment that encourages students to explore mathematical ideas beyond the prescribed syllabus.
• Design and administer appropriate assessments that are consistent with IBDP standards and expectations.
• Evaluate student work fairly and consistently, providing clear, constructive feedback.
• Prepare report cards and progress reports as required, ensuring that they accurately reflect students achievements and areas for improvement.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, concerns, and strategies for improvement.
• Participate in school-wide meetings, departmental meetings, and professional learning communities.
• Engage in continuous professional development, including attending IB workshops, conferences, and training.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and ideas for improving teaching and learning within the Mathematics department.
• Stay updated with changes in the IBDP curriculum and mathematics education trends.
• Actively participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and school community-building events.
• Support the school's mission, vision, and values both inside and outside the classroom.
• Assist in the planning and execution of math-related events such as competitions, math days, or workshops.

• Educational Requirements:
  
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (e.g., Engineering, Physics).
• Teaching certification or equivalent qualification, with at least 2 years of teaching experience in the IBDP or a similar international curriculum.
• Completion of an IB-recognized IBDP Mathematics training workshop (Category 1 or Category 2).
