Senior Specifications Engineer

Senior Specification Engineers required for all K&A Design Building disciplines,

• Architectural & Structural
• Mechanical Electrical & Plumbing
• ITC / Telecom
• Geotechnical & Landscaping / Environmental
• Infrastructure & Transportation

The Senior Specification Engineer will contribute to the strategic growth of building a team of Specification Engineers / Writers in the above combination of construction disciplines in the various project portfolios.

Job Requirements:

• Possess thorough familiarity with British and / or European Specification Formats and standards.
• Be well aware of the Regional & UAE Local Authority Regulations & Codes i.e. Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, Dubai Civil Defence, Saafat, Estidama, etc.
• Ability to review and analyse construction drawings and documents & develop and maintain office-wide Specifications and Quality Control Standards with the Specification & Design Teams.
• Be able to demonstrate exceptional knowledge in the area of Building Specifications, Building Materials and Construction Methods.
• Have prior experience with LEED-certified projects and an awareness of both regional and local sustainability standards. The desired candidate will be LEED-AP qualified or an approved equivalent.
• Team players, capable of supervising and supporting design and technical staff in the preparation of contract documents.
• Have knowledge of CSI Master Specification Format compilation, updating & management of the data.

Qualifications:

• Degree from a well-recognized university in a relevant field.
• 8+ years of Specification Writing experience, with UAE experience using CSI / NBS or European equivalent formats.
• Previous Specification Writing experience with a large Architectural / Engineering firm, preferably in the MENA region, is desirable.
• Excellent working knowledge of Building Materials and Construction Technology.
• Good working knowledge of current Contract Law as it applies to construction.
• Good computer skills with MS Office software suite / AutoDesk AutoCAD & Revit.
