Khan Academy India is looking for an experienced analytics manager, you will play a critical founding role in building a data culture for a high-growth organization. We are looking for curious, passionate individuals who can apply their strong technical skills to mine for insights across our rich educational datasets, and work collaboratively across the organization to drive strategic and operational decisions. This role will partner with our India schools team to drive engagement with our product and improve student outcomes.
In this role you will:
Own the continued development of metrics & KPIs, including trend analyses, metrics research, self-service tooling development, and support of business teams who use them to drive strategic & operational decisions.
Conceptualize and execute deep-dive analyses to uncover insights about our users across their lifecycle (from acquisition to usage & retention). You will leverage your strong technical skills to mine for patterns and causal relationships, and paint the picture of how users are interfacing with our products to achieve learning outcomes
Contribute to the design of hypothesis-driven experimentation, such as outcome measurement for campaigns and other optimization initiatives
Play a critical role in developing the organization s data culture, and ensure that there is strong analytics input towards evaluation & prioritization of new opportunities
Collaborate with the efficacy and research lead for Khan Academy India to support curated datasets and/or dashboards
Contribute to the development of analytics tools and data applications to enhance data access for the schools success, philanthropic,and marketing teams
Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, driving high-quality analysis and actionable insights.
Oversee data collection, cleaning, validation, and warehousing to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Ensure data governance, security, and compliance with company policies and privacy regulations.
You are someone with:
A passion for education and a desire to change the world
Background in applied math, statistics, economics, or a related technical field
10+ years experience in data science or analytics
Strong SQL foundations & ability to manipulate data using Python. We are SQL and spreadsheet-heavy.
Strong data storytelling, visualization, and communication abilities.
Knowledge of statistical (i.e. multiple regression, hypothesis testing) and machine learning techniques (i.e. clustering, decision tree learning, etc.) for real-world applications
Prior experience with the end-to-end analytics chain is nice to have (e.g. data modeling, ETL, BI tooling)
Willing to travel for work for internal and external meetings as and when required (est ~20% on average in the year)
