We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual to join us as a Fashion Textile Intern at the Dolls Gallery . In this role, you will conduct in-depth research into traditional garments, patterns, and accessories from various cultures, contributing to the accuracy of our projects.
This internship opportunity is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills. The intern will be responsible for researching, writing, and presenting the information they gather, as well as contributing to the design and layout of exhibitions. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with our team to bring cultural narratives.
This is a full-time, paid position that requires on-site presence for a minimum duration of two months . If you have a passion for textiles, culture, and creativity, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Role & Responsibilities
Design Exhibition Layout
Research, write, and present gathered information.
Collaborate on designing and creating engaging exhibition layouts.
Research Cultural Elements
Study traditional garments, patterns, and accessories from various cultures.
Ensure accuracy and thoughtful representation in exhibits.
Communication of Research
Translate research findings into interactive and engaging exhibit content.
Project Coordination
Assist with budgeting and obtaining quotations for textiles.
Develop comprehensive project proposals for review.
Support the museum team in executing approved project.
Eligibility
Current student or graduate of a Fashion Design or Textile-related program (NID/NIFT preferred).
A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional textile design skills.
Proficiency in communication (written and visual) and experience with industry-standard design applications.
Excellent understanding of colour theory, aesthetics, and design principles.
Knowledge of diverse materials, textile techniques, and design processes.
Familiarity with various cultural aspects.
