Senior Accountant

Job Description:- The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing key aspects of the accounting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. This role includes handling MIS, SOP, complex financial reports, cash flows, supporting audits, and mentoring junior staff while contributing to process improvements and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities of this Role:-

1. Accounting and Financial Management:

• Generate and analyze financial reports from Tally, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions in Tally.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and recommend corrective actions as needed.

3. GST (Goods and Services Tax)

GST Compliance and Filing:

• Preparation and submission of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.).
• Ensure timely payment of GST liabilities.
• Reconciliation of Input Tax Credit (ITC) with vendor invoices and GST portal.

GST Audits and Assessments:

• Assisting in GST audits conducted by internal or external auditors.
• Responding to notices and queries from GST authorities.

4. TDS (Tax Deducted at Source)

TDS Returns Filing:

• Preparing and filing quarterly TDS returns (e.g., Forms 24Q, 26Q, 27Q).
• Ensuring compliance with filing deadlines to avoid penalties or interest.

TDS Reconciliation:

• Matching TDS deductions with Form 26AS.
• Generating TDS certificates (Form 16 and Form 16A) and sharing them with relevant parties.

TDS Deduction and Deposit:

• Ensuring timely and accurate deduction of TDS on applicable payments such as salaries, rent, contractor payments, professional fees, and other specified transactions.
• Depositing TDS with the government within prescribed timelines.

5. Taxation Responsibilities

Generate and analyze taxation reports from Tally, such as reconciliation of ITC, GST, TDS, HST, Advance Tax, Self-Assessment Tax, and Tax Planning.

Direct Tax Compliance:

• Preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations, including advance tax calculations and payments.

Indirect Tax Compliance:

• Overseeing the filing of GST/VAT returns and other applicable indirect taxes.
• Responding to queries, audits, and notices from tax authorities.

6. Tax Audits and Assessments:

• Preparing and coordinating documentation for tax audits.
• Liaising with external auditors and tax consultants to address audit findings.
• Managing tax assessments and ensuring timely resolution of disputes

Qualification and Experience

• Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger, reporting, and compliance.
• Assist in completing records with valid documents, proper management of files and folder.
• Experience in a leadership role is a plus.
• Must have working experience in accounting software Tally Prime and Expertise command on Ms Excel.

Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in Tally Prime for day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, ledger management, and financial reconciliations, financial reporting, cash management, stock analysis and reports, stock verification.
• Updated with all latest amendment in law of Jewellery Business.
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, inventory, assets and loans, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions in Tally.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills..
• Strong understanding of indirect and direct tax laws.
• Analytical skills for effective reconciliation and reporting.
• Proficiency in financial reporting tools.
