Design & Estimation Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Design Responsibilities:

1. Develop and review detailed engineering designs, schematics, and layouts based on client requirements and project specifications.
2. Use design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools to create 2D/3D models.
3. Perform technical calculations and ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulations.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design-related issues.
5. Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and manuals.

Estimation Responsibilities:

1. Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
2. Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Bills of Material (BOM).
3. Evaluate supplier and vendor quotations to determine the best fit for the project.
4. Assess project risks and include contingencies in the estimation process.
5. Provide detailed cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and other expenses.

Coordination & Reporting:

1. Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to clarify requirements and address queries.
2. Support project teams during the tendering and bidding processes.
3. Prepare and present project proposals, budgets, and timelines to stakeholders.
4. Monitor and update project cost estimations based on changes in design or scope.
