Mass Media and Communication Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and skilled Media and Communication Teacher to teach secondary-grade students at our esteemed ICSE-affiliated school. The successful candidate will be responsible for imparting knowledge of media studies, communication techniques, and the impact of media on society, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and analytical skills in students. The teacher will guide students in exploring both traditional and digital media, teaching them to understand and critically engage with media messages and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development & Lesson Planning:
  
• Design and deliver lessons in alignment with the ICSE curriculum for media studies, communication, and related subjects.
• Develop engaging and relevant lesson plans, incorporating multimedia tools and real-world examples.
• Adapt teaching materials to meet the needs of diverse learners in the classroom.

• Teaching & Instruction:
  
• Teach secondary-grade students the basics of mass communication, media literacy, journalism, public speaking, and digital media.
• Introduce students to the principles of effective communication, including writing, speaking, and visual communication.
• Foster an understanding of media's role in society, covering topics like advertising, public relations, social media, ethics, and media law.
• Encourage critical thinking by guiding students to analyze and interpret media content.

• Classroom Management:
  
• Maintain a disciplined, respectful, and focused learning environment.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
• Implement student-centered teaching techniques that promote active participation and collaboration.

• Assessment & Evaluation:
  
• Regularly assess student performance through quizzes, assignments, projects, presentations, and exams.
• Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills in communication and media analysis.
• Guide students in individual and group projects to develop practical media and communication skills.

• Co-Curricular Activities:
  
• Organize media-related events, such as debates, speeches, news reporting, or media literacy workshops.
• Mentor students in extracurricular activities like school newspapers, yearbooks, or media clubs.
• Encourage students to participate in inter-school media competitions and projects.

• Professional Development:
  
• Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in media, communication, and education.
• Attend workshops, conferences, and seminars to improve teaching techniques and media knowledge.
• Collaborate with other teachers for interdisciplinary projects or initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Educational Qualifications:
  
• Masters or Bachelors degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, English, or a related field.
• B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is preferred.

• Experience:
  
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience teaching Media and Communication or related subjects at the secondary school level, preferably in an ICSE/ISC curriculum-based institution.
• Experience with integrating digital tools and media into lessons is a plus.

• Skills:
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to engage students through innovative teaching methods, including the use of multimedia tools.
• In-depth understanding of current media trends, social media platforms, and digital communication.
• Ability to develop and deliver content that stimulates interest in media studies.
