We are seeking an experienced Strategic Development Specialist to drive sales and revenue growth in the government sector.
This role focuses on engaging with Central and State Government departments, PSUs, and procurement agencies to generate new business opportunities and build strong relationships.
The ideal candidate will have a strong IT solutions sales background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to craft innovative strategies to achieve sales targets.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenues in collaboration with the Sales Director.
- Generate sales opportunities through Central and State Government bodies, PSUs, and other government procurement agencies.
- Conduct lead generation, sales calls, and client meetings to convert opportunities into successful deals.
- Build and maintain relationships with government stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Travel across the defined territory for sales activities, spending considerable time meeting potential and existing clients face-to-face.
- Work closely with internal teams, including project management, product development, presales, and delivery, to ensure seamless business development and project execution.
- Monitor and log sales activities, analyze success rates, and provide actionable insights.
- Deliver compelling customer presentations and negotiate effectively to close deals.
- Stay updated on market trends, IT solutions, and the competitive landscape.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 4-6 years of proven success in IT sales management with experience in selling software, hardware, and IT solutions.
- Strong experience in government sales, with a track record of engaging with Central/State Government departments, PSUs, or procurement agencies.
- Comprehensive understanding of IT products, solutions, and SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Sales-savvy with the ability to identify target customers, devise strategies, and consistently meet sales targets.
- Demonstrated ability to structure innovative deals and negotiate with senior management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
- Team player with the capability to work cohesively with senior sales and presales teams.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the latest sales trends and IT market practices
