Key Responsibilities
SAP BW Development and Modeling
- Design, develop, and implement SAP BW data models, including InfoProviders, InfoObjects, and DataStore Objects (DSOs), to meet reporting requirements.
- Build and maintain ETL processes for loading data into SAP BW from both SAP and non-SAP source systems.
- Develop advanced queries using BEx Query Designer for complex reporting and analytics.
Data Extraction and Integration
- Optimize and manage data extraction processes from sources such as SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and others.
- Ensure smooth integration with SAP HANA, SAP Data Services, and other ETL tools to enable efficient data flow and transformation.
- Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading using standard SAP BW tools and techniques.
Performance Tuning and Optimization
- Perform performance tuning for data loading and query execution in SAP BW.
- Optimize data models and ETL processes to enhance system performance and responsiveness.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in BW processes and data retrieval.
Reporting and Analytics
- Create BW reports and dashboards to provide actionable business insights.
- Collaborate with business users to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop and deliver reports using tools such as BEx Analyzer, Analysis for Office, and SAP BW/4HANA.
Support and Troubleshooting
- Provide production support for SAP BW, addressing data load failures, data quality issues, and performance challenges.
- Troubleshoot data inconsistencies, incorrect data loads, and reporting errors to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain data integrity across BW applications and outputs.
Qualifications
Experience
- At least 5+ years of SAP BW development experience, with a focus on SAP BW on HANA or SAP BW/4HANA.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and BW data extraction.
- Hands-on experience with BEx Query Designer and Analysis for Office.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in SAP BW components such as InfoObjects, InfoCubes, DSOs, CompositeProviders, and Open ODS Views.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP ECC or S/4HANA data sources.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with SAP Data Services, SAP HANA Studio, and ABAP coding is an added advantage.
Soft Skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in SAP BW/4HANA or SAP HANA.
- Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud or SAP Lumira.
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori or SAP UI5 for visualization.
