Senior Structural Design Engineer

Looking for Structural Engineer having 7 to 10 years' experience in detailed engineering of fuel fired power plant equipment structures. He or she would be reporting to Manager and responsible for detailed engineering calculations, strength calculations, structural drawing preparation/checking, planning and timely completion of detailed engineering activities. He/she would be experienced in analysis of structures using STAAD Pro. He should be able to handle team of 3-4 designers with good communication and presentation skills.

Job Description

1. Diversified product supporting structural design experience like solid fuel, fired boilers, as well as oil and gas fired boilers structures, Piperack, duct support structures.
2. Capability in managing structural designing being well versed in various codes like IS Codes IS800, IS9178, IS6353, IS808, SP6 and international code like AISC, BS, ASCE & JIS.
3. Detailed engineering and planning for supporting structure, non-pressure part equipment for power plant.
4. Structural design using STAAD-Pro for power plant equipment and shall recommended cost effective design solutions.
5. Well versed with STAAD, AutoCAD TEKLA, STAAD Foundation, IDEA STATICA and Microsoft Suit.
6. Earthquake resistance structural design with Response spectra analysis. (CQC & SRSS Method at least)
7. Detailed design and Analysis of ducting, stack, silos, duct supporting structure, stiffening requirements etc.
8. Design report preparation for stack, silos, duct supporting structure, stiffening requirements, jigs, transportation frames, boiler stability analysis etc.
9. Complete structural detailing knowledge with comprehensive understanding of different steel material codes Indian, British, Chinese, Japanese & American.
10. Material selection, Material Requisitions / BOQ Preparations.
11. Preparation of Civil foundation load data of steel structure & design of foundation bolts & base plates in an effective manner with detailed calculations.
12. Excellence in Connection design using IDEA STATICA software.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for Optimized Design and detail engineering of power plant equipment structure.
2. Work planning, monitoring and catchup plan preparation, man-hour planning and recording.
3. Checked and released GA and fabrication drawings in specified areas equipment supporting structure.
4. Maintaining and monitoring the engineering document list.
5. Responsible for the timely completion of the work assigned.

Skills

1. Proficient in using STAAD-PRO, IDEA STATICA software.
2. Knowledge of structural design standard like IS, BS, AISC, JIS, and other international codes.
3. Knowledge of software like Tekla, AutoCAD, MS project, Excel etc.
4. Strong problem-solving skills, able to handle unforeseen problems with course corrections.
5. Knowing of Japanese language is extra advantageous.
